As part of the school-to-university sport year launched by the Ministry of National Education, the Northern Islands District and the association USEP Northern Islands were awarded among 35 innovative projects for the sports meeting "The Olympics of the values of the Republic" organized last Friday in Saint-Barthélemy.
All the elementary schools of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin, 10 schools in total, were represented.
On the very beautiful playground of St-Jean, 8 teams carrying 8 values of the Republic (freedom, equality, fraternity, solidarity, citizenship, secularism, diversity, and not discrimination) clashed on innovative sports activities ( Cécifoot, Beach tennis, aquatic games, oval ball, jump and throw challenge). Each team was made up of one pupil from each school to allow Usepians to cooperate with their comrades from other schools. This diversity created solidarity in each team: “We congratulate our 110 people from the region who are 100% committed to the values of the Republic. Through this meeting, the students were able to share and live the values together. It's great for the future! “, Underlines Jean-Luc Elice.
USEP Iles du Nord thanks the Collectivity of Saint-Barthélemy for the organization and the warm welcome, Ms. Maxor, Ms. Jacques (Director Gustavia) and her teaching team, Collège Mireille Choisy Ms. Estienne and Mr. Marques, all teachers ambassadors of values of the Republic (Lydie Peter, Julie Labrit, Fabienne Pierrelas, Evelyne Doressamy, Sylvie Erin, Mirna Irca, Marilène Mayeko, Mahélia Ribere, Nicole Bellevue, Adeline Arnaud, Florence Erelie, Gildas Cueff, Jérôme Carlet, Cédrick Alvarez) and the trainers USEP (Eléa Rubert, Andy Armongon) who contributed to the success of this project for the benefit of all Usepiens. _AF
