EDUCATION: The number of students has dropped by 20% in Saint-Martin since 2011

Since 2011, national education has recorded a drop of 20,4% in the number of pupils in public establishments in Saint-Martin.

Eight years ago, 9 children returned to school against 232 in 7, 351 fewer. Even if accentuated by Irma, the decline had already occurred before the passage of the hurricane since in 2018 and 1 between respectively 881 and 2015 students were enrolled in the sixteen schools, four colleges and two high schools in the French part. Over eight years, this represents a 2016% drop in staff and over two years by 8%. The decrease mainly took place in the 775st degree with 8 fewer children in 693 compared to 20 (- 15%). The 1nd level lost 867% of its enrollment, i.e. 2018 students between 2016 and 19.
