ECONOMY: Reimbursement of damaged or damaged euro banknotes

The IEDOM (Issuing Institute for the Overseas Departments) and Change Caraïbes have been offering a new service to Saint-Martin residents since June 20 for the free reimbursement of their euro banknotes in poor condition.

Torn, damaged banknotes, passed through the washing machine, it is now possible to have them reimbursed to the Société Caribéenne de Change, which operates in the territory under the name Change Caraïbes. Thanks to a partnership concluded between IEDOM Guadeloupe, Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy represented by its director Thierry Beltrand and the Société Caribéenne de Change, the operation is facilitated for Saint-Martinois by depositing damaged banknotes in exchange offices. Caribbean located at 12 rue de la Liberté in Marigot (on the site of the former Maison de la Presse). These tickets will then be sent to the IEDOM agency in Les Abymes in Guadeloupe for additional expertise and possible reimbursement within a minimum period of one month and by transfer to an account opened in the Euro zone.

The service is open Tuesday to Friday from 13 p.m. to 17 p.m. If the deposit operation is free, people using this service must provide themselves with a valid official identity document. _VX
