Since January 1, drivers of two or three motorized wheels have had to have a yellow vest on board, like motorists, according to a decree published in May in the Official Journal. In case of immobilization, this vest must be worn by the driver before leaving his vehicle. Without this accessory on board, offenders risk a fine of 11 euros and 135 euros if they do not wear it following an emergency stop. As a reminder, “cyclists riding at night outside built-up areas or during the day in poor visibility conditions must wear a fluorescent safety vest approved with CE marking affixed to it”, according to the government.
