A new padel club is born in Saint-Martin. Right next to the SXM padel club, a second sports complex for this popular racket sport is set up in Belair.
After the Sandy Ground court built in 2018 and the two courts of the SXM padel club in Belair, two new padel courts are under construction in Belair, there too.
Indeed, by the end of September 2022, Belair Community Center (BCC) will complete the construction of two new state-of-the-art padel courts. "We are going to make a court with official regulations for the organization of the tournament and a singles court, the first singles court in the whole Caribbean", underlines the BBC.
Both courts will also be equipped with LED lights for night play. The courts will be located near the club's Olympic swimming pool. Located opposite the Phillipsburg Hospital, the club currently has two tennis courts and one of them is being converted to accommodate the padel courts.
This new development once again shows the enthusiasm that continues to grow around this sport. The padel has seen its number of affiliates grow considerably in Saint-Martin for a little over a year. _pc
