Extra-tropical depression: watch out for the strong swell from the north

0

A strong swell from the north has been active since yesterday evening in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy, due to a strong extra-tropical depression, according to Météo France.

This system “will generate a very strong swell from the north which will interest for several days the entire West Indian arc from Sunday evening, then Guyana”, according to Météo France which yesterday placed the Northern Islands in orange vigilance for “Dangerous sea at the coast”. This swell is “very energetic” with “wave trains spaced 14 to 17 seconds apart”. Strong waves are expected from this evening “with average troughs of 3 meters and maximum waves of 4 to 5 meters”. The swell will cross the Caribbean arc until next Wednesday.
