Indeed, the presidents of the Overseas Territories were received yesterday at the Elysée Palace, where they met the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron, the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin and the Secretary of State in charge of the Overseas Territories Jean-Francois Carenco.

This meeting came in response to the strong expectations of the Overseas Territories formulated in the declaration of Fort-de-France, last May on the sidelines of the Conference of Presidents of the Outermost Regions (OR).

Among the priorities: equal rights, recognition of overseas specificities and the implementation of an economic policy based on the geostrategic and ecological assets of our territories.

The ultramarine presidents met last Tuesday, in order to specify together the line to be taken during this meeting in a spirit of ultramarine solidarity.

President Louis Mussington met the Deputy Secretary of State for Overseas Territories, Jean-Francois Carenco, on Monday, September 5, to discuss the situation in Saint-Martin and jointly establish a roadmap.

Yesterday at midday, the President spoke with Senator Annick Pétrus, as part of the preparation for the meeting with the President of the Republic, last night at the Élysée.
