Dauphin Telecom becomes responsible ECO

0

The alarming observation of the impact of our society on the environment must react. This is what Dauphin Telecom decided to do: Take action. Whether internally for staff and for its customers, but also more generally for the population of Saint Martin. This will also require the support of associations and companies working towards this objective which is the maximum reduction of our carbon footprint on our environment.

All aspects of a business are affected; from product and service design, to marketing, purchasing, but also personnel management, infrastructure, buildings and transport… Corporate social responsibility encompasses more facets than you might think.

Several actions are therefore planned within the agencies, ranging from recycling policy with a desire for “paperless” and the implementation of selective sorting to the use of biodegradable coffee capsules, the choice of a search engine such as Ecosia, which is pouring 80% of its profits into a global reforestation program. Saving energy is therefore at the heart of areas for improvement in which we can all participate.

There are also collectors for waste electrical and electronic equipment called D3E: used batteries and accumulators, cables and telephones available to all within the shops. You will therefore soon be able to act positively and deposit your old telephones and other waste in agencies in order to recycle them.

The other major component of this investment will be the support of associations and companies that are at the initiative of projects for the preservation of the environment.

This is why Dauphin Telecom supports MyStraw Company (sale of biodegradable products for catering). Sunita Mittal markets alternative solutions to plastics for individuals as well as for restaurants, it already has more than 80 customers in St Martin and St Barthélemy and the brand is distributed to 4 resellers on the island including Carrefour.

Through this partnership, our common goal is to raise awareness of the importance of reducing and sorting our waste, especially plastic, which has become a real scourge for the oceans and marine fauna.

It is in this spirit that My Straw Company, accompanied by Dauphin Telecom, invites you to participate in the big waste collection contest "Get Up Clean Up Contest", on November 10. The principle is simple, you register by team (8 maximum), you choose a place (5 defined districts) and the teams which will collect the most waste will win prizes. A common objective: Clean St Martin before the tourist season and above all strive to continue this effort of cleanliness.
