Culture: Spike Lee's comeback with a K

0

Many of us know the Spike Lee of the great era. Committed and intelligent militant of the human cause. After a long crossing of the desert, here he is back with a film that seems to reconnect with his militant part.

Spike lee is an American director known for masterful works such as Malcolm X, Jungle fever, Summer of Sam, la 25ème heure or Inside man. So many films that you absolutely have to see if you haven't already done so or watch them again for fun. In recent years, long years, Spike Lee was less on the rise. The films weren't bad, but we strayed a bit from the level he used to. The great directors often have sawtooth careers. Fortunately, the bottom of the wave seems to have passed! Spike Lee returns with a new film whose promising title leaves no doubt as to the genre. "BlacKKKlansman, I instigated the KU Klux Klan" traces the true story of Ron Stallworth, the first African-American officer to join the Colorado Spring police. The story begins in the 70s when he sets himself a goal that seems completely crazy, to infiltrate the Ku Klux Klan. Without breaking the suspense, we can already tell you that it succeeds! The film was released in theaters on August 22 and will be available to watch in Saint-Martin from September 13. _NB
