As a precautionary measure, Royal Caribbean's 5th Oasis class, Wonder of the Seas, has canceled its Thursday September 14 stopover in Sint Maarten due to Hurricane Lee which is influencing weather conditions throughout the Caribbean.

The American-Norwegian shipping company, Royal Caribbean International, specializing in cruise ships, was forced to alternate the itineraries of four ships (Allure, Harmony, Oasis, Symphony of the Seas and therefore Wonder of the Seas) operating from of four different American home ports before Hurricane Lee, as a precautionary measure guaranteeing a safe and comfortable cruise for the approximately 6000 passengers of the Wonder of the Seas, 362 meters long and 64 meters wide, with 17 decks. Impressive, right?

Please note that the Port St. Maarten Group (PSG) response plan for the 2023 Atlantic hurricane season is in effect.

PSG maintains communication with all key stakeholders and hopes that there will be no further low pressure systems impacting port operations in the coming weeks. _AF
