In an audio message posted on the Sint Maarten government's Facebook page on Friday afternoon, Prime Minister Silveria Jacobs announced that two new people had died today from the coronavirus.
This brings the number of deaths in the Dutch part to four. A report which pushes the government to reinforce its measures.
"Too many people do not respect the quarantine and containment instructions!" Yes, we have planned to impose confinement on the entire population, ”said Silveria Jacobs. This means that all stores would be closed.
The government has already drafted the decree and forwarded it to the governor for validation. "As soon as we receive the authorization, I will enforce the decision," concluded the Prime Minister.
