In its latest bulletin analyzing the first week of this month, namely from Monday August 1 to Sunday August 7, 2022, the regional health agency (ARS) confirmed the slow decline in the epidemiological dynamic. In other words, the number of Covid-19 contaminations is down, but the usual precautions are still in order.

In Saint-Martin, for week 31 from August 1 to 7, 2022, there are 81 new cases in the territory, compared to 108 the previous week (week 30). Since August 8, 2022, 28 new cases of COVID have been recorded out of 279 analyzes carried out. According to data provided by the agency, the weekly incidence rate rose to 244/100 inhabitants, against 000/314 in week 100. Regarding people hospitalized, as of August 000, two patients were being treated for Covid-30 contamination at the Louis Constant Fleming hospital center, none at the CH de Bruyn. There was no medical evacuation during the week in question.

On the other hand, a cluster has been identified at the EHPAD Louis VIALENC. In addition, it should be noted that a 90-year-old woman, hospitalized at home, died of Covid-19 on Saint-Martin. Thus, since the start of the crisis, 65 Saint-Martin residents and 6 residents of Saint Barthélémy have died following Covid-19. In Saint-Barthélemy for the first week of August, 20 new cases were recorded on the territory, against 38 in week 30 (SI-DEP ARS data). The vaccination situation on the Northern Islands is as follows: in Saint-Martin, vaccination coverage in the general population was 43% for one dose and 40,4% for the complete regimen. The proportion of people who received a reminder was 19,7%. Among those over 12 years of age, vaccination coverage was estimated at 52,6% for at least one dose, 49,5% for the full regimen and 24,3% for a booster. Anyone wishing to be vaccinated can go to the Louis Constant Fleming hospital by making an appointment beforehand, in a pharmacy, in a doctor's office or via private nurses. In Saint-Barthélemy, vaccination coverage was estimated to be greater than 98,9% for at least one dose, 95,7% for the complete schedule and 65,6% for a booster. Important: the 2nd reminder has been extended, since July 20, 2022, to adults aged 18 to 60 identified as being at risk of serious forms, to pregnant women from the 1st trimester of their pregnancy, to people living in their surroundings or regular contact with vulnerable people. This 2nd reminder also concerns, since July 26, all health professionals who wish it. It is administered from 6 months after the 1st booster, respecting, in the event of infection occurring after the 1st booster, a period of 3 months. Faced with the ongoing health crisis, vaccination remains the centerpiece of the way out of the crisis. Indeed, vaccination prevents serious forms of the disease, even if this does not prevent being positive or being contaminating, which is why it is essential to respect barrier gestures on a daily basis. _VX
