Covid-19: Guadeloupe re-defined for a period of three weeks from today!

Faced with the acceleration of the virus in Guadeloupe (674 new cases were recorded from April 19 to 24) and the increasing pressure on hospital services, the prefect of the Guadeloupe region, Alexandre Rochatte announced new restrictive measures displacement and above all, a reconfinement arranged for three weeks.

As of today, Tuesday April 27 in the morning and for a period of 3 weeks, reinforced measures will concern  travel and outings with curfew maintained from 19 p.m. to 5 a.m. and restriction of movement during the day.

Only businesses selling basic goods and services will be able to remain open. The markets will be restricted to the sale of only food or vegetable products

Bad news also for restaurants which will no longer be able to accommodate the public. Only take-away sales during the day and delivery at any time of the day are authorized.

Otherwise, nurseries, schools and universities remain open under current conditions. The Prefect also clarified that companies can continue their activities but favor teleworking.

Access to beaches and rivers will be restricted to the sole practice of individual sports activities. _AF
