0

Throughout the week, students from Mont des Accords college in Concordia were made aware of climate change as part of the “My Climate, My Problem” project. This morning, the school is organizing a conference / debate on the theme "The challenges of the climate in Saint Martin".

During this event, exchanges will certainly be lively between the students. Among the themes on the agenda: “Saint-Martin is a tourist island, which lives mainly from tourism, what are the impacts on our ecosystem?” ; “Can we reduce the carbon impact in Saint Martin? How ?" ; “The car of the future in Saint-Martin: electric car or biofuel?” or “Can we become a green island in the Caribbean, a pioneer in a green economy?”.

The operation “A tree for the climate”

This conference will be followed by the planting of a tree for the climate, which will close this awareness week. This initiative, a symbol of biodiversity, is part of the national action organized by the LPO, the first association for the protection of nature in France, which has nearly 46.000 members. Its activity revolves around three missions: the protection of species, the preservation of spaces and environmental education.
