Labor court advisers from the North Islands: "The battle continues"

The content of the decree signed at the end of December 2015 - allowing compensation and reimbursement of the costs advanced by the labor tribunals of the Northern Islands - does not meet expectations. The point with Michel Vogel, representative at the industrial tribunal.

The labor advisers of the North Islands have long denounced their difficulties in exercising their mandate as magistrate. In fact, to attend the hearings in Guadeloupe, they must bear the costs themselves on the spot. This long-awaited decree - of December 24, 2015 relating to the compensation of labor advisers residing in Saint-Martin or Saint-Barthélemy and sitting on the labor tribunal of Basse-Terre published in the Official Journal of December 27, 2015 - was to resolve this extremely tense situation, and thus put an end to the multiple strikes. “Regarding this decree, I am satisfied in principle, but not at all satisfied in substance since the provisions concerning accommodation and meal costs are applicable only from January 1, 2015. It is shameful, it is a bargaining that is not worthy of justice. Understand that for 13 years, I had to advance all the costs, ”explains Michel Vogel, who wrote to the judicial administration to raise the complaints of advisers relating to this decree. In addition, this text does not mention the amount of compensation. "A new strike in Basse-Terre to win the case would be possible", according to his words.
