Teen Pregnancy Conference

The active Maternity association is organizing a conference-debate on Wednesday on the theme “Zero pregnancy in schools” at the media library, in Concordia, from 19 p.m.

The association explains that its aim is to raise awareness of the public health problem of early pregnancy. Several speakers were invited to discuss this subject: Farah Viotty, psychologist at the Espace santé jeunes; Otto Raymond, socio-anthropologist; Charles Vangeenderhuysen, gynecologist-obstetrician and Marcel Edi, intern in gyneco-obstetrics. “We have a very large number of girls under the age of 18 who terminate their pregnancy or go until childbirth according to our service statistics. We must therefore think about the best way to avoid these pregnancies, which are most often accidental, ”says Charles Vangeenderhuysen, member of the association, who invites parents, carers and young people to attend this conference. Two days of information dedicated to early pregnancies took place on May 2 and 3 at the lycée des Iles du Nord and at the Soualiga college._EH
