The awards ceremony, held in the magnificent setting of Secrets Resort in Anse Marcel, gathered many guests, eager to know the results of the first culinary competition organized by the Saint Martin Tourist Office.

Malaïka Maxwell, perfect mistress of ceremony, did not fail to retrace the crazy adventure of this first edition. From November 13 to 30, 79 restaurants offered a starter, a main course, a dessert or a cocktail made from tamarind, local fruit and the theme ingredient of the festival. Among them, 62 restaurants took part in the competition to be elected "Best Table of Saint Martin 2021/2022", divided into 4 categories. At the same time, there was a competition for high school students at the Lycée Professionnel Danielle Jeffry, various activities and cooking workshops for children and adults. Among the participating high school students, the promotion was beautiful and all-female: Talisha Lavoile, Jackicha Hodge, Jovania Vanterpool, Alida Hamlet, Lisha Woodley and Shakyra Richardson. Each has thought, created and produced a tamarind-based dish, letting their creativity float between mahi mahi and duck breast. The three budding chefs left with a cup robot from PBK, a cookbook by chef Michel Portos and a set of 12 plates and 6 glasses of Caraibes Affaires. The 1st place goes to Jackisha Hodge who could not contain her emotion to win this prize saluting her performance. Proud of a certificate attesting to her victory, she will soon be leaving for express training at the Paul Bocuse Institute. The second place went to Shakyra Richardson who will have access to a development course. 3rd place is occupied by Lisha Woodley. Unanimously, the 6 young talents have a promising future.
