Last Thursday was the traditional Thanksgiving meal organized by Hope and Music Development Foundation, association chaired by Pau Whit. More than 300 people, including the elderly, carers and members of their families, were invited to this lunch, which has taken place every year since 2009.

Besides the elderly people from Bethany Home, Quartier d'Orléans, Grand-Case, Agrément, Hameau du Pont, La Savane, Cul-de-Sac or even Sandy Ground were also represented, for a Thanksgiving lunch which made it the busiest on the island. Among those present, we could see, among others, the 4th vice-president Steven Patrick, the president of the MJP (Movement for justice and prosperity), Louis Mussington, the former President Alain Richardson, the territorial councilor Maud Ascent-Gibbs or Evelyne Fleming, project manager for Education.

Among the events that followed one another during lunch, we could note the performance of the Cuban dancer Yanet Garau-Rodriguez of the Rosario Cardénas school in Havana, who teaches classical, ballet and folk dance. She was invited as part of an artistic and cultural project, entitled “Art in the service of hope”, which is developed in the framework of a partnership between the Robert Loyson Cultural Center of Le Moule, in Guadeloupe, and the Sandy Ground on The Move association, for the benefit of schoolchildren in Saint-Martin.
