School complex: The mobile classes of the college not yet ready!

Friday, January 11, the rector of Guadeloupe was to inaugurate the mobile classes of the college part of the school complex in the presence of a delegate from the Fondation de France and Daniel Gibbs. The work will not be finished so it will ultimately be a site visit.

“The three rooms downstairs are ready. The electricity (and therefore the air conditioning) works. Those at the top are also ready, but there are no walkways to access them,” explains Michel Sanz, IA-DAASEN for the Northern Islands. These footbridges must arrive by boat since December 14, but their delivery has been postponed due to the swell in particular. To be able to use the lower rooms initially, a concrete slab must still be poured between the buildings. After which the security commission should pass, in two stages.

Sunday, January 6, the eve of the start of the Christmas holidays, the surroundings of the site overlooking the courtyard of the college not being secure, the school life staff of the Soualiga college planned to exercise their right of withdrawal. On Monday, when the doors opened at 6:45 a.m., the site was finally secured by a palisade.

To denounce the constant postponement of the end of the mobile classroom project, the forty teachers of the Soualiga college met on Monday morning. Among them, four have decided to strike.
