Ciguatera: vigilance is essential

The Health Agency (ARS) Guadeloupe, Saint-Martin, Saint-Barthélemy reports that since the beginning of the year, its services and the Directorate of Food, Agriculture and Forestry (DAAF) have registered “8 episodes of food poisoning due to ciguatoxins contained in fish, for a total of 13 patients”. The opportunity to remind the population to be vigilant about the origin of the fish consumed. The poisonings observed “focus in particular on the consumption of trevallies, in particular the species of yellow trevally”.
