The 2016 population census campaign ended on February 29. The president of the Collectivity Aline Hanson welcomed the participation of "all those who have complied with this civic duty and who have thus contributed to the general interest of Saint-Martin". However, some residents refused to be registered, while the data collected remains confidential. "I would like to reassure these compatriots on the merits of this national device, and invite them to reconsider their position, in order to make their contribution during the next campaigns", specified the president.
