Last Sunday, the General Manager of Caisse des Dépôts, Eric Lombard, was in Saint-Martin where he notably visited the social residences of Semsamar and SIG (Société immobilière de la Guadeloupe) which have just been rehabilitated, or which are under reconstruction, following the passage of cyclone Irma. A visit which was carried out in the presence of President Daniel Gibbs, Yawo Nyuiadzi, President and CEO of Semsamar, and Antoine Rousseau, Director General of SIG.

The site visit began at the Port la Royale marina, where Jean-Sébastien Roca, AFD technician in Community support presented the renovation works.

Isabelle Gorizia, director of the Engineering Pole presented the project to develop the Marigot seafront, before Albéric Ellis, director of the port of Galisbay, made a presentation of the port extension project.

The delegation then went to Quartier d'Orléans where the Semsamar residences were visited, notably with the transformation of the ground floor accommodation into activity premises. This was followed by a visit to the SIG les Hauts de Pinel residence, with a presentation of the improvement and protection against high pressure.

The visit ended at the SIG residence, Le Sucrier, in Concordia, where Eric Lombard was able to see the progress of the work.

The latter considered that the island is rebuilding "trying to do better", with planning and development projects. And if work is still in progress, "it's going in the right direction". _RM
