Unemployment down in the Northern Islands

Pôle Emploi Guadeloupe announced last week that the number of job seekers registered in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy fell in October, compared to the previous month.

The number of job seekers registered in category A (without activity) in Saint-Martin fell by 2,48% (114 people) and by 5,08% in Saint-Barthélemy (24 people). Pôle Emploi Guadeloupe specifies that 4.474 people in category A are registered with the Concordia agency, including 1.841 men and 534 young people under 25 years of age.

Very sharp rise in unemployment in mainland France

According to figures published by the Ministry of Labor, the number of job seekers registered in category A has increased by 42.000 in France. This is the largest increase in two years. "These figures are not satisfactory," said Minister of Labor Myriam El Khomri in a statement.
