During various roadside checks, the police in Sint Maarten realized that many people were in possession of a false driving license. The police interrogated and convicted these dishonest drivers, and opened an investigation to determine the origin of these illegal documents.
In the morning of Thursday, June 27, the owner of a driving school residing in the "Zorg en Rust" sector, in the Dutch Quarter, was arrested by detectives for document fraud. With the authorization of the investigating judge and in the presence of the public prosecutor, the investigators searched the fraudster's home. A number of forged documents and data carriers were found and seized. The suspect was placed in police custody for further investigation. _RM
