Air Caraïbes: no flight planned for Cuba before October 2022

The company Air Caraïbes is giving up on relaunching flights between Paris and Havana or Santiago de Cuba this summer, due to the health situation and travel restrictions.

Scheduled since the fall for the start of the year, the return of the French company between its base at Paris-Orly and the airports of Havana-José Marti and Santiago-Antonio Maceo is no longer planned before October 22, 2022. Cuba announced last week to close its borders to unvaccinated travelers. Air Caraïbes explains that affected passengers have been warned, with three options being offered to them - as for all travelers affected by flight program changes due to the Covid-19 pandemic:

Request a free modification of the reservation: a possible tariff readjustment may be requested if the initial tariff is no longer available. "The modification request must be made at the earliest before the initial date of departure, otherwise the ticket will be lost"

Request a credit: valid for 1 year (from the date of issue) on the entire network for departures between 04 March 2021 and 30 June 2022 inclusive (for tickets issued before 30 March 2022). “You can use your credit at Air Caraïbes sales outlets or at the reservations center. No service charge will be charged for your new reservation. IMPORTANT: the request for credit must be made as soon as possible and last 7 days before the initial departure date of the 1st flight ”. If the credit note could not be used, you can request a refund at any time.

Request a refund: for a trip between 04 March 2021 and 30 June 2022 (last departure and for tickets issued before 30 March 2022). “If the fare conditions of your ticket do not allow a refund, you must first make your request for credit. After receipt of this credit note, you can request a refund at any time for 1 year from the date of issue.

> IMPORTANT: the reimbursement request must be made no later than 7 days before the initial departure date of the 1st flight. Please note that the service fees linked to the purchase of the ticket are not refundable ”.

The rest of Air Caraïbes' transatlantic flight program is currently unchanged on departure from Orly: Pointe-à-Pitre, Fort-de-France, Cayenne, Saint-Martin (Grand-Case and Juliana with possible extension to Saint-Barthélemy), Punta Cana and Port-au-Prince continue to welcome its planes.
