Help with the purchase of computer equipment for students eligible for AME: the anger of a student in Master 1 MEEF

The story begins on November 19, 2021 when I receive an email from the scholarship service "Request for reimbursement of purchase of computer equipment". 

This aid was conditional on the purchase of computer equipment with a minimum value of €500 including tax. I thought it was a very good idea to help students, but unfortunately I'm not sure anymore… I'll explain. So I called the scholarship services to make sure that this information was reliable. A lady answered me: “Yes, you buy the computer equipment for a minimum of 500€ and you will then be reimbursed. So I got myself a tablet worth €679 before December 20, the deadline for being able to benefit from this aid.

Four months later, on Thursday March 17, 2022, I received an email with the conclusion "However, we regret that we cannot respond to your request for the following reason(s): Your invoice is lower at 700€”. So I don't understand what's going on, because the condition of purchase was 500€ minimum. I am angry. I am therefore outraged today to find myself faced with this problem. I have sent an email to the scholarship service for more than a week and I have not had any response. I also emailed the manager, still no response. So I decided to call the scholarship department today. It was explained to me that there was nothing to do, because according to the regulations, it is indicated that the purchase of computer equipment must be of a minimum value of 700€. So I asked to see these regulations, I was told that they could not send them to me. The person also told me that there was a problem during the distribution of the email, which is why today, the information is no longer up to date. She did not want to go into details. I find it absurd to communicate such information to students knowing that they have no income. Because it is first necessary to be able to advance this sum of money, which is not possible for everyone. So I asked if I was the only one in this situation, the person did not want to answer this question. It is serious to divulge this kind of information, especially to students who today find themselves caught off guard in the face of the situation. And what pisses me off is the fact that they can't offer me a solution at the moment, other than asking for this help again next year.

How is that possible ?

I am therefore extremely angry today and even more when I see this kind of article appearing in a newspaper. On the one hand they abuse the fact that we are young thinking that it will go unnoticed. And on the other hand, we are talking about a value of €500 or even €700 depending on the first or second email read. _AD
