Grand Case airport: the expansion of the runway is postponed

Daniel Gibbs announced yesterday that plans to extend the runway at Grand Case Airport have been postponed. 

Indeed, according to a study, the project would require an investment of 20 million euros for an annual profitability of 300 euros maximum over twenty years considering that the airport operates at its best capacity during the twelve months of the year .

The two main airlines that frequent Grand Case Airport, Air Antilles and Air Caraïbes, have therefore indicated that they will not accept an increase in taxes and other charges to cover the investment. And threatened to leave Grand Case to operate only on Juliana.  "The airlines have therefore asked to review the investment," says Daniel Gibbs.
