Air: Air France, Air Caraïbes and French Bee will test a digital health "pass" to overseas territories

The airlines, Air France, Air Caraïbes and French Bee, will test from next month between Roissy, Orly and the Overseas Territories the ICC AOKpass application, a digital health certificate allowing the results of tests to be presented to Covid-19 at airports.

Tested in March 2021 between Paris-Orly and the airports of Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyana, La Réunion and Tahiti, the AOKpass digital health certificate is supported by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and two leaders in the health and certification, International SOS and SGS Group. By using the application, "specially designed to be interoperable with all other systems", passengers from the three French companies will be able to prove the results of their tests with airlines "without infringing the confidentiality of their personal health data".

Under current regulations, travelers arriving in the French overseas departments and territories are required to undergo a PCR screening test 72 hours before departure. As part of the pilot project, passengers can "record their PCR test results digitally on their mobile devices for later verification at the airport." The ICC AOKpass management system complements this verification using a blockchain-based “global and incorruptible” network, “ensuring that all test results are authentic, valid and comply with government regulations”.

Muriel Assouline, Managing Director of French Bee, and Tamara Primakoff, DGA at Air Caraïbes, said in a statement: “Passengers are looking for a smooth return to travel, where they can be as close as possible to the flight experience and flight they had before the pandemic and in the safest way possible. We are firmly committed to achieving this goal, and the ICC AOKpass pilot test will help us enable this process for passengers, for subsequent deployment if successful. The pilot alone will benefit passengers who were previously regular travelers on these popular routes every week ”.

Air France also announces the test of the application for voluntary passengers from March 11 and for four weeks on all its flights from Paris-CDG to the airports of Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe) and Fort-de -France (Martinique).

More than 130 airports in 18 countries are now ready to facilitate the deployment of ICC AOKpass with airlines.
