Updating overseas law: a welcome text

0

The Senate and the National Assembly definitively adopted last Thursday, unanimously, the bill to update the law of the Overseas Territories. The deputy of the North Islands Daniel Gibbs hailed "some great advances for the COM".

“This text responds to multiple concerns from different overseas territories. It supports the changes that have taken place in recent years by supplementing the law and by implementing new, strong and effective public action tools, "explains the French overseas department, welcoming this adoption which will" considerably enrich the text for the benefit of Overseas and their populations ”. However, the deputy Daniel Gibbs considers that this text is an “incredible catch-all” and regrets “that our overseas are not the subject of a large text, ambitious and likely to radically reverse the deal in territories deeply mired in the crisis and who deserve so much more than "measures" and a policy of adjustments ".

Creation of an observatory of margins, prices and revenues

Daniel Gibbs is delighted that this text presents “some real reasons for satisfaction for our Communities, in particular in his Premier article (…) by finally allowing the creation of an observatory of margins, prices and revenues in Saint-Barthélemy and Saint -Martin and making applicable, in Saint-Martin, the famous "quality price shield".
