Celebrations will be organized tomorrow in Grand-Case to commemorate the birth of Victor Schoelcher. Fireworks will take place at 21 p.m.
Each year, this day is an opportunity for the population to commemorate the abolition of slavery. The tribute to Victor Schoelcher will begin with a religious ceremony at the church of Grand-Case at 9 a.m., followed by the traditional parade at 10 a.m. boulevard Bertin Maurice. The procession will go up to the sports platform, next to the MJC. At 15:10 am, it will be the turn of official speeches, followed by a reception. Musical, cultural and sporting activities are planned in the afternoon and evening.
