On Thursday March 25, at 14:30 p.m., the SXM Road Safety Association awarded the diploma of the first road education certificate to 55 students from Clair St Maximin primary school in Quartier Orléans.
This presentation took place in the presence of the vice rector, Michel Sanz, the deputy director of the office of the prefect delegate, Stéphane De Carli, the vice-president of the Collectivity, Sofia Carti and the parents. The ceremony thus comes to close 3 months of effort provided by the 55 pupils of the CM2 classes.
The teaching of road safety rules at school is compulsory according to article D312-43 of the Education Code.
The objectives are to teach children, as pedestrians, passengers or rollerbladers or bicycle users, to protect themselves, to share public space and not to put other users in danger. The acquisition of these rules is validated by the issuance of an APER (Certificate of first road education).
This action follows the agreement signed in November 2020 between the vice-rector and the SXM road safety association.
Once again, congratulations to the young recipients! _AF
