RG, twenty-seven, was summoned last Thursday by the criminal court of Saint-Martin for acts of violence against his partner.
On November 1, 2015, RG and his girlfriend have been angry since morning. Regardless, the couple decided to go together to an evening at the Grand Case cultural center. Around 3 a.m., a dispute broke out between them. According to the man's comments, she was dancing with a man and did not want to come back and that irritated her. He tells her that he will burn his things at home.
Seeing him leave, the companion decides to follow him to make sure that he does not carry out his threat. "When she arrived, there were seven boys behind her," recalls RG who had put his girlfriend's belongings outside their apartment. He tells her to leave "otherwise he will come back with a gun".
The girl leaves but comes back because she forgot her cellphone and she sees RG who is about to burn his things. An altercation breaks out and he slaps her on the left cheek.
To the magistrates, he specifies that it was a small slap, "like that" by mimicking the gesture. "If the slap had been strong, the girl would have fallen," he said. "The victim still had a bruise," said the deputy prosecutor. The court sentenced RG, who had no criminal record, to a fine of 250 euros.
