1 year later… The enormous Madame Irma

0

Last Wednesday, at the Beach Hotel, there was the screening of the film The huge Madame Irma directed by Eric Strimpling in the presence of Sylvie Feucher, the new prefect and Daniel Gibbs.

On the occasion of the sad anniversary, the Beach Hotel was transformed into a projection room. The film returns to the passage of the hurricane through a series of testimonies sometimes moving, sometimes funny. Witnesses tell the story of the post cyclone preparation events. The main interest of the film, in addition to the fact that it allows to twist the blow to a few preconceived ideas, is that it intertwines the stories of "ordinary" citizens, officials, police, services rescue…

All those who were there, who lived through Irma's passage but who, through their functions or their positions, bring nuance and relief, sine qua non conditions if we want to understand. In the midst of all the reports and other hot topics that are flooding us at the moment, this beautiful film, a tribute to the strength and resilience of those who stayed behind, is an exception and really worth a detour.
