In early September last year, a Cole Bay resident traveling in a car registered in the Dutch part was arrested by the police (border police) in Bellevue in the French part during an inspection. He presents the papers of his vehicle as well as his driving license, which arouses suspicion of PAF. To the touch and from a visual point of view, the license seems false. The document is then seized and the driver implicated. The latter was summoned Thursday May 22 before the criminal court of Saint-Martin. Without the Sint Maarten driving license manufacturing instructions listing the points which make it possible to recognize a real license from a fake one, the public prosecutor's office asked for a further investigation.
