Notice to residents, tourists, amateurs and sailing enthusiasts! Everyone is invited to participate in the 2nd edition of the "Lagoonies Regatta", which will take place this Saturday, June 25, in the lagoon of Simpson Bay, along the Causeway bridge.
After a beautiful day at sea (note: the race is scheduled from 9 am to 17 pm), the many "sailors" will be invited to the awards ceremony organized at 18 pm, followed by a live concert of "Ti Fey La Ka Sone" At 20 o 'clock.
Suffice to say that the atmosphere will be assured throughout the day at the “Lagoonies Bistro Bar”!
“We are delighted to organize this 2nd edition. We hope that a lot of people will be there to have fun and enjoy a superb day of sailing, entertainment and live music ”, underlines Olivia Roudon, owner of Lagoonies.
In 2015, 47 participants registered for the 1st edition. The idea of this regatta was at the time to create a sporty, cultural and festive event in low season, so that residents can also participate.
Note that the teams will sail on identical boats, Sunfast 20 'which are used all year round, as part of the Caribbean Championship. Another category, the RS Vison of the Yatch-Club of Sint-Maarten, will also be in competition during this regatta.
