Vaccination: Details of the ARS on the expiry dates of vaccines

0

Among the false information circulating on social media is a photo of a vial of vaccine labeled with a date of 12/2021.

Once again, the Regional Health Agency (ARS) wishes to recall that the European health authorities validated on October 6, 2021 an extension of the shelf life at very low temperature of the vaccine from the Pfizer laboratory to 9 months from the date of manufacture, instead of the 6 months initially.

Thus, the batch that was photographed (FH8469) is part of the list of vaccines whose expiry date changes from 12/2021 to 31/03/2022. In general, the health professionals responsible for receiving, storing and distributing vaccines in the vaccination sites, those in charge of preparing the doses and administering them, make sure on a daily basis that the validity of pharmaceutical products used in accordance with the rules of good practice.

Both national and regional authorities are and remain vigilant about the quality and safety that are constantly required for all health products that are made available to the population.
