A study on the profile of tourists transiting from the airport to Juliana was carried out last summer by the establishment. It concerned a sample of 1790 visitors, including as many women as men.

For 73% of them, it was not their first stay on the island. Nearly two-thirds came for less the fifth time, 7% for the first time.

More than 42% of the respondents lived in the United States, 35% in the Caribbean, 13% in Europe and 4% in South America.

The three main sources of interest / activities cited are going to restaurants (58%), to the beach (52%) and shopping (48%). About a quarter of those questioned also claimed to have visited Grand Case and Orient Bay but only 13% Marigot. 15% said they had been to a casino.

For more than half of the respondents, the hotel is the main form of accommodation, followed by timeshare (10%), Airbnb (5%) and condo-villas (5%). The average length of stay is 7,4 nights for Americans, 9,3 for Canadians and Europeans, and 10,4 for South Americans. It is interesting to note that in general, stays are longer on the French side than on the Dutch side: 8,4 against 7,2 for the Americans, 10,4 against 8,8 for the  Europeans and 14,5 versus 7,9 for Canadians.
