This new edition of the Discovery of Outdoor Activities (DAPA) system took place on the island of Pinel for three days last weekend, thus allowing children aged 7 to 14 with limited means to explore another island and participate in many outdoor sporting activities.

The DAPA system organized by the Club Nautique de Saint Martin (CNSM) and supported by the Department of Youth, Sports and Social Cohesion (DJSCS) allows children in precarious situations to access sports and outdoors as part of the strategy for preventing and combating poverty. The first edition in Pinel was held on November 2, 2021 with great success. Again this year, the DAPA experience delighted the children, who were amazed at the idea of taking the boat. Every morning around 8 a.m., a bus went to one of the schools that responded to the CNSM's invitation to pick up dozens of children, heading for the Cul-de-Sac pier.

79 young people from Quartier d'Orléans on Wednesday November 2, 43 young people from Concordia and 16 from Sandy Ground on Thursday 3 and finally, 48 other young people from Sandy Ground on Friday 4, almost 200 children participated, divided into 7 groups . On Friday, the director of the Five B association and 6 young people in BAFA training joined the DAPA team on the neighboring islet so that they could supervise the children during the activities as part of their evaluation as future facilitators. . And there were many activities: the discovery of Pinel with representatives of the Nature Reserve, kayaking and paddleboarding, exploring the seabed, swimming under the supervision of a lifeguard and a member trained in First Nations Rescue, without forgetting land activities such as football, rugby, volleyball and new: the dance workshop. A breakfast, a lunch and a snack completed this magnificent day for the children who returned to the territory of Saint-Martin with an even bigger smile. _VX
