Cultural outing: CM2 students visit Fort Louis

0

ACS ZEPIN (Association culture et sportive priority education zone of the northern islands) organized, in collaboration with the Territorial Archives of Saint-Martin, an outing to Fort Louis de Marigot for CM2 students.

It is within the framework of the project “How is the history of Saint-Martin told to me? »Initiated at the Hervé Williams school by Xavier Mirre-Minori, teacher master trainer, that twenty students of CM2 classes went, in the morning of Tuesday, December 10, to Fort Louis. On this heritage theme, ACS ZEPIN and the Territorial Archives of the Collectivity were partners in the project. Emphasis was placed on the origin of the construction of the fort, its fortification and its various parts relating the life of the infantry of the time. The students were particularly attentive to the explanations provided by the guide Audrey Claxton, and came away delighted and culturally enriched. For many of these children, it was their first visit to Fort Louis, and now they, in turn, will have to tell the story of this historic site to their classmates. To complete this project, they will use IT, B2i skills required for this class level, to create a digital booklet. _RM
