On the occasion of the World Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, all the soroptimist clubs of the French Union are joining forces to fight against violence against women and girls, violations of human rights, discrimination and inequalities and proposed for the year 2016, in preview, the screening of "Chanda, an Indian mother", a film which illustrates well the struggle of a woman to get out of an uncomfortable situation and access to a better life through education. The profits from this action are donated to shelters and associations intended to help women victims of violence.
The Soroptimist club of St-Martin regrets to announce the cancellation of the screening of the film "Chanda, an Indian mother" scheduled for November 25, 2016 at the Sandy-Ground cultural center for technical reasons. Indeed, the failure of the projectors turned out to be more complicated and longer than expected, thus resulting in the postponement of the projection.
To date, we are still unable to carry out this action and have decided to cancel the screening. The cost of the tickets will be reimbursed to all those who were kind enough to accompany us in our action for a better promotion of the status of women.
