SHTA: an effective strategy

The St. Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association (SHTA) recently presented its plans to boost tourist traffic during the summer season. This year, the association has also unveiled its strategy to the Minister of Tourism, including a public-private partnership including online marketing campaigns on the Expedia and TripAdvisor sites. The results - as of mid-September - showed an increase in bookings through Expedia. This shows “an excellent return on the investment made by the government and the private sector”, specifies the association which also finances the travel of a representative in the United States to various exhibitions, notably in New York and Burlington. _EH
