It is well known, music softens manners. For those who would indulge in a visit to the neighboring island, let yourself be seduced by this event which gives pride of place to classical music and jazz.

Created by the American violinist Frances DeBroff, the Saint Barthélemy Music Festival has become an institution on the island. The festivities began this Friday, January 8 with a jazz and dance performance, where these two arts mingle with subtlety and consistency. Many international artists will follow one another until January 17 to fill the streets of Saint Barth with sounds more melodious than each other. Artists such as the percussionist Jason Marsalis, the famous conductor Boian Videnoff, the String Trio group, the violinist Tessa Lark again the Joel Lyssarides Trio, to name a few, they come from all over the world, from London, from Paris, Canada, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Chicago, these last big American cities having the most prestigious schools of music from which several of these virtuosos come. Also worth mentioning is the arrival of the famous soprano Sarah Joy Miller who will be accompanied by mezzo-soprano Daveda Karendas, baritone Zachary Nelson and tenor David Miller who will perform twice this Friday January 14, at 19 p.m. and 21 p.m. all conducted by the baton of Steven Mercurio to perform opera masterpieces such as La Traviata and the Marriage of Figaro. The program is eclectic, between the orchestral evening and the piano recital honoring Beethoven and Chopin, the night of the opera and the jazz evening, the public can only be won over by the high quality of the performances and the virtuosity. artists present.

This 38rd edition will end in apotheosis on Sunday January 16 with a jazz concert. The places chosen will take part in an extraordinary musical journey: Anglican Church, Catholic Church of Gustavia, Church of Loriens. _VX
