Entry restriction in Saint-Martin: traffic jam at Bellevue

1

Since this Friday, July 31, access to the French part is restricted in the direction St. Maarten towards Saint-Martin. A Police control was installed in the middle of the Bellevue straight line which generates, as was to be expected, a large line of vehicles. A container blocks the crossing at the Terres-Basses border

It was announced. The protective measures taken by the prefecture to fight against the risks of importing Covid-19 came into force on Friday at noon.

The Dutch part more affected than the French part by the virus and the resumption of commercial flights from the USA, the country most affected in the world by Covid-19, have led the French authorities to limit traffic to the French part.

Only people with a professional or medical reason will therefore be able to go to the French part. This reason will be verified on the basis of the certificates already issued by the Prefecture in June during the previous traffic restriction. These certificates may be reissued and collected from the Prefecture services.

REMINDER: medical requests should be sent to the email address covid19pref@saint-barth-saint-martin.gouv.fr

Regarding the professional motive based on the certificates already issued by the Prefecture in June, we have no information for people who were not there in June and have returned since, but who still have a professional motive. real to go partly French. We will keep you informed as soon as possible.

And the people who are on a boat no longer had negative checks two days ago and who cannot leave the lagoon to join St Marteen and take the plane?
