After the passage of Irma, the State of which it is the competence, decided to revise the plan of prevention of the natural risks (PPRN) and to limit this revision to the only risk of marine submersion linked to a cyclone. The objective is an early application in June and the approval of the revised PPRN at the end of the year. In the meantime, a public inquiry will have taken place to obtain the opinion of the population.
The measures applied in advance are limited and provisional. They cannot be applied to all constructions and fittings, only to new ones. Existing goods are not affected by the measures taken in advance.
The public will be presented with the new regulatory zoning and by-law for the cyclone hazard in Saint-Martin during a public meeting on May 10. Another public meeting will also have taken place on April 23 at which will be exposed the mapping of the cyclonic hazard. (more details on www.soualigapost.com)
