Since 2009, March, "Blue Mars", has been dedicated to the fight against colon cancer, the second deadliest cancer in France.
The branch of the League against Cancer of Saint Martin is organizing, in partnership with AGWADEC, this Thursday, March 15, a conference-debate on the prevention and treatment of this disease, with medical specialists from the island and from Guadeloupe. The opportunity for the general public to learn more about this cancer, responsible for 42 new cases each year but also to overcome conventional wisdom and to know more about the screening test to be done at home. It is one of the most common cancers (colorectal cancer is the 000rd most common cancer in men and the 3nd most common cancer in women!). But, detected early, this cancer can be cured in 2 out of 9 cases! _AF
