Lucas Bay still invaded by Sargassum

0

The ARS published the third data record on the presence of Sargassum in the Northern Islands, which corresponds to week 40. Three sectors are still in the red zone.

The agency observed an increase in algal strandings at Lucas Bay, Oyster Pond, with low gas emissions. Concerning the other sites, the ARS noted a reduction in the emissions of sulphurous gas at Cul-de-Sac, consequence of the first cleanings of the green brigade, in action since October 1 last. Good news too: the Lamigeot site in Quartier d'Orléans has returned to the green zone. The agency monitors Cul-de-Sac Bay, Eastern North Bay and Lucas Bay as a priority due to the presence of algae near the houses. In Saint-Barthélemy, Anse des Cayes and Maréchal are also under surveillance.
