One Sunday at 17:50 p.m., a grandmother goes to the gendarmerie to file a complaint: her grandson (or her daughter's son) is the victim of violence. Examined by a doctor in the emergency room, he showed signs of blows on the body as well as a bite on his thumb. The 13,5-year-old was beaten by his mother, SR, 38.
This was summoned Thursday before the local court of Saint-Martin but was absent.
The facts date back to February 23 of this year. SR asks his son to go get him a gray skirt and he comes back with a gray dress. Her mistake pissed her off. While leaving, he would have also pushed his half-brother, a baby of a year and a half, a behavior that annoyed her even more. SR then taps his elder on the thigh. Still according to her, he also punched her. "It made me crazy," she explained to the gendarmes during her hearing.
She thus grabs a hammer to strike her elder. The latter holds the tool to prevent his mother from hitting him. Since he doesn't want to let go of the hammer, she takes an extension cord to whip him “until he lets go”. The child asks his mother to stop. "I gave him two blows ...", she continues during her interrogation.
“These are scary facts. The young person explained that he had been typed at least once a week, ”said the deputy prosecutor who requested a fifteen-month suspended prison sentence against the mother whose criminal record is clean.
