The Prefecture of the Northern Islands, located route du Fort Louis: it's ancient history! The fault of the "monster" Irma who did not spare the symbol of the State either. In an emergency and in order to ensure the proper functioning of its various services, the Prefecture has found a new address, at 23 rue de Spring (note: in the old premises of the ANPE located opposite the Mont des Collège Agreements).
After the raising of the tricolor, the highlight of the official ceremony was marked by the "Marseillaise" intoned by the French Armed Forces (the Army, the National Navy, the Air Force), the Red Cross, Civil Security, SDIS (note: the firefighters of Saint-Martin and Guadeloupe), the Gendarmerie, the Border Police, Civil Protection, doctors and psychologists dispatched from the Metropolis, as well as all personnel from the Northern Islands Prefecture, still present in Saint-Martin.
The opportunity for the Prefect, Anne Laubies to thank warmly and from the bottom of my heart, the women and men of civil security, firefighters and the army who were with us during the passage of Irma. They took refuge at the right time, in the right room. Thank you to them before concluding “the population of Saint-Martin is showing a lot of resilience today.
