There are six schools only at “kindergarten” level which welcome 1 pupils divided into 169 classes, one primary school, for an average of 59 children per class. Three schools have more than 19,8 students: Simeonne Trott in Marigot with 200 children, Evelina Halley in Marigot with 269 children and Jérôme Beaupère at Sandy Ground with 215 children. The school with the lowest numbers is Jean Anselme with 202 students.

Note that the Emile Choisy school in Marigot also accommodates 75 children in kindergarten, they represent 20% of its staff.

Compared to 2019, the number of children enrolled in kindergarten fell by 4,16% (-54 students). Ghislaine Rogers and Eliane Clarke schools are the two preschools that have lost the most children, respectively - 28 and -22 in one year. On the other hand, no class has been eliminated in these two establishments, which has made it possible to lower the average of students per class by 2,2 (18 against 18,2 in 2019) at Eliane Clarke and by 3,1 at Ghislaine. Rogers (19,4 vs. 22,5).

The creation of a class in Jérôme Beaupère also made it possible to lower the average number of children per class in 2020 (20,2 against 22,7). (soualigapost.com)
