EDUCATION: What is the math level of students in Saint-Martin?

The government wants to raise the math level of French students, one of the lowest in Europe. What is it in Saint-Martin?

57,9% of students entering CP in Saint-Martin schools have an average satisfactory level of proficiency. This is a rate below the academic (63,3%) and national (78,1%) rates. In CE1, the average rate of students in Saint-Martin mastering math drops to 41,2%. A large third of Saint-Martin students know how to add and subtract correctly (60% nationally) in CE1. 

The most significant gap in mastery is observed in writing and reading numbers: in Saint-Martin 40 and 46,6% of students succeed against 76 and 75,5% nationally.

Less than 3 out of 10 students in Saint-Martin entering sixth form have a good command of mathematics (29,3%). In the academy, it is a little less than half (48,6%) and at the national level, the rate is 71,9%.
